Dr. P.K.B. Menon was formerly Member Secretary to the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship development Board (NSTEDB), Government of India, an apex body promoting entrepreneurship among S&T persons in India. He was associated with the Board since it’s setting up in 1982. Several programmes and activities in entrepreneurship development were conceptualized and implemented by him during his tenure in the Government of India, which has helped India to create a techno-preneur culture in the Academic Institutions.
The Science and Technology Entrepreneur’s Park (STEP) and Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) are some of such schemes initiated by him in India. As an Adviser to the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, he was also associated with Planning and Co-ordination, Information Technology, support to R&D projects etc. As a Visiting Fellow to Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex (UK), he researched extensively on Science Park, Innovation Centers, and other university-industry interactions in the developed countries and its implications to India.
He was the Founder Chairman of the Indian STEPs and Business Incubator Association-an association of the all the STEPs and Business Incubators in the country. He was also a founder Member of the Asian Association for Business Incubators (AABI). He is presently, Managing Director of Global Incubation Services (GINSERV) at Bangalore, and also Head, Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park, Noida (Near New Delhi) in India. He is a mentor and adviser to several start-up companies in India.
